Ecologic, an Illinois-based manufacturer of college and university residence furniture, will display its line of environmentally friendly furnishings at two national student housing facility conferences in October, 2010.

Ecologic’s student desks, bunk beds, armoires and other items will be on display in Booth 109 at the ACUHO-I/APPA Facilities Conference on October 12th through 15th in Charlotte, North Carolina. Presented by the Association of College and University Housing Officers (ACUHO-I) in partnership with APPA, the annual conference is titled “Keeping on Track.” Educational sessions will explore topics related to housing facilities management, including best practices for maintaining, building, or renovating college and university campus housing facilities. More information about the ACUHO-I/APPA Facilities Conference is available at www.acuho-i.org.

“Ecologic’s product lines are a perfect fit for that ACUHO-I/APPA conference,” says Ken Klein, president of Ecologic. “The conference organizers aim to improve the quality of residential facilities design, renovation, maintenance, and utility operations performed by ACUHO-I and APPA members, and Ecologic is an exemplar of that goal. For over 20 years we have been manufacturing the industry’s most environmentally friendly and sustainable dormitory furniture. But our student furniture designs are also among the most attractive and durable.”

Ecologic will also participate in the Association of University Interior Designers annual conference from October 18-22 in Atlanta, Georgia at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). More information is available at https://www.auid.org/interior_design/conferences.html. “Sustainability initiatives will be featured at the AUID conference,” says Klein, “and no student housing furniture manufacturer offers more sustainable products than Ecologic.”

Ecologic’s display at AUID’s trade show will include samples of its student lounge furniture line, featuring durable, attractive sofas upholstered in 100% recycled leather.

Booth visitors at both conferences can inspect samples of Ecologic’s residence hall furniture; pick up free gifts, and register to win daily door prize drawings. “But the biggest draw is usually the student furniture itself,” says Klein. “Facility managers understand that sustainability is important to their customer base—college students—and durability and value are important to their employers—the colleges and universities. Ecologic helps residence hall managers and developers meet the needs of all of their “customers”—internal and external.”
