The ever popular PunkAss and Skrape will be on the floor Saturday June 27th to add to the overall punch the event will have for the consumer and industry professional alike. Tapout, now virtually a household name, had humble beginnings with a man’s ambitions to put popular stickers on a shirt with the belief that he could build an empire doing so. It turns out that he was right, and that man was Tapout founder Charles Lewis, known as Mask. This empire, now spanning the entire globe, has reached heights of 130 million in revenue in 2008 and is on track to far exceed this in 2009. The Hawaiian community, and the MMA community borne from within it, is generally tight-knit and appreciates when mainlanders take the time to make the journey and experience along with them the beauties the Islands have to offer. Tapout crew members PunkAss and Skrape will be doing just that while taking some time to enjoy the Tropical sun themselves. IMMAE Hawaii is part of an ambitious Global Licensing Network (GLN) initiative in which IMMAE hopes to have events in 50 states and 7 countries by the end of 2011. These events are much smaller and more intimate than the international IMMAE production held once a year in California. They are focused on a regional rather than international audience. Targeting these regions directly with smaller events creates a more personal energy between attendees, celebrities, and industry professionals. IMMAE is reaching into these focused regions with GLN shows to drive awareness for the sport and educate the consumers whose first experience with the sport may be the IMMAE event. IMMAE expects 2,000 to 3,000 attendees or more for this regional event which will feature a grappling tournament as well as a Pankration tournament and various demonstrations and seminars.
