Press Media Wire (Press Release) - Apr 20,2009 - (PressMediaWire) - Irvine, CA – IMMAE announced today an initiative for 2009 which will help to make its tradeshow one of the most environmentally friendly trade platforms on the planet. It is entitled “The IMMAE Green Project”. IMMAE is seeking to remove almost all paper based systems from its tradeshow platform as well as leverage its new online virtual community to reduce travel and provide the lowest impact to the environment possible. In the planning of the 2009 show, a major effort was placed on removing paper based systems from its registration processes as IMMAE considers them to be archaic and not indicative of a modern environmentally responsible business. The sheer amount of paper which can be used briefly and then discarded in conjunction with a show like this is staggering. It is entirely possible, if a tradeshow of this type is not careful, to generate 1 – 2 sheets of paper per person which passes in and out of the expo. At this rate, over 1000 pounds of paper product can simply “disappear”. Based on generally available data, this equates to approximately 10 trees of average paper yield. So by making this one fundamental change IMMAE has helped to keep 10 massive paper producing trees standing per show, per year. IMMAE has brought this change about by taking advantage of the latest digital signature and digital identification technologies to avoid all use of paper registration forms and contracts. Since 2001 digital signature laws and online based business contracts have made tremendous headway and have seen landmark court case decisions. This has paved the way for a future where all businesses can realize a truly paperless world. IMMAE believes that they are one of the visionaries in this new paperless future. This is not the only aspect of a show such as this which can create an environmental impact. One of the most glaring is all the travel which must occur. Seeking to mitigate this as well, IMMAE is launching its Virtual Trade Community, or the IVTC. The IVTC will mate exhibitors with buyers and industry professionals through its online virtual network. This allows commerce to take place, and exhibitor revenue generation without the buyer being physically present. It also allows these revenue streams to be realized long before the show actually takes place. IMMAE feels this will increase the number of viable buyers while severely reducing the overall impact the show has on the environment. IMMAE feels this is the most environmentally responsible model a tradeshow can take, and actually increases the breadth of the buyer demographic at the same time. IMMAE is reaching out to the Green business community, and its policy setting, research, and trade organizations to help participate in the IMMAE Green Project as well as offer advice on further streamlining its systems and processes. IMMAE feels this collaboration will ultimately benefit the environment as well as help to catapult it into the rapidly approaching environmentally conscious future.
