PressMediaWire - (San Diego, California) - The Independent Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA) presents The 2009 ISSA Song Contest, an international competition that supports the disciplines of songwriting, musicianship and performance. The contest is open to independent singer-songwriters, both amateur and professional, and began accepting submissions on Monday July 13th, 2009 through its contest partner Sonicbids (sonicbids.com). More information is available on the official ISSA website, www.issa-music.org.
Songwriters can enter their songs into 8 different music categories. The songs will be judged by a panel of music professionals who are knowledgeable in songwriting, the music business and today’s musical trends. Judges include Anne Catalino, Grammy and Dove award-winning sound engineer, Vidais Lovette, music and film producer, and Shyla Nibbe, award-winning independent singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, educator and promoter.
The grand prize winner will be selected by the judging panel and receive a $2,000 cash award courtesy of ISSA. Winners for each music category will be selected by fan vote and receive a free yearly Supersonic membership.
“ISSA is excited to present the song contest again this year. As always, our objective is to give the independent singer-songwriter the opportunity to have their music heard and help them to establish a fan base,” said Shyla Nibbe, President of ISSA.
