ISSA Introduces Its 2009 Christian Songwriting Contest

PressMediaWire - (San Diego, California) - The Independent Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA) introduces The 2009 ISSA Christian Songwriting Contest, an international competition that supports the disciplines of songwriting, musicianship and performance in the Christian independent music community. The contest is open to independent singer-songwriters, both amateur and professional, and began accepting submissions on Monday July 13th, 2009 through its contest partner Sonicbids (sonicbids.com). More information is available on the official ISSA website, www.issa-music.org.

Songwriters can enter their songs into 8 different music categories. The songs will be judged by a panel of music professionals who are knowledgeable in songwriting and the music business. Judges include Anne Catalino, Grammy and Dove award-winning sound engineer, Vidais Lovette, music and film producer, and Shyla Nibbe, award-winning independent singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, educator and promoter.

The grand prize winner will be selected by the judging panel and receive a $1,000 cash award courtesy of ISSA. Winners for each music category will be selected by fan vote and receive a free yearly Supersonic membership.

“We’re pleased to be offering this opportunity to the Christian indie music community. We are honored to support those who do God’s work through music,” said Shyla Nibbe, President of ISSA.
